A student got positive for coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) after a private school in Cauayan City, Isabela conducted a face-to-face class.

This was confirmed by the Cagayan Provincial Information Office (CPIO) where the results of the student swab test came out on Saturday, September 5 and it was positive for the said virus.

The student allegedly had contact with a city hall employee who also tested positive for the virus.
According to the report, 45 other students attended the face-to-face class.

According to the City Health Office of Cauayan, they are allegedly conducting strict contact tracing with the student who tested positive for COVID-19.

In fact, 33 people who met the student have already undergone a swab test and are awaiting the results according to the CPIO.

The Cauayan city government has closed an unnamed private school.

“It’s a private school which is now temporarily closed as well,” said a Cauayan city government staff.

In a statement sent by the Cauayan City government through Atty. Reina Santos, allows face-to-face classes in the city because Isabela province is subject to modified general community quarantine (MGCQ) in accordance with the guidelines of the Inter-Agency Task Force (IATF) on the coronavirus disease (COVID-19 ).
