New promotion scheme will be through Reclassification & no more Natural Vacancy

In the news, Here is the Teachers New promotion scheme for will be through Reclassification & no more Natural Vacancy.

One of the members of the National Working Group for selection process mentioned during a seminar that promotions will be no longer through natural vacancy.

“All promotions will be through reclassification.”

She said that there will now be Teacher 1, Teacher 2, Teacher 3 , Teacher 4 up to Teacher 7, then Master Teacher 1 up to Master Teacher 5.

“I hope that our teachers will be ready for this humane process.” Perhaps early next year, this will be implemented.”

So, What do teachers need to do?

“They need to take up Professional studies, they must have 18 units of it.” “They need to have certificate of attendance for training and seminars.”

“We need to encourage Teachers to have innovations. Think of new ways on how to improve teaching and learning process.”

“There will be no Head Teacher. Head Teachers will be reclassified to Teacher 4, Teacher 5 and Teacher 6, but Principals and Assistant Principals will remain.”

“Head Teacher will be given teaching loads. If a Master Teacher is vacant it will be scrapped and it will go back to Teacher 1.”

“We will not be waiting for a natural vacancies. Every teacher must upgrade his/her skills in order to be promoted. You will not be competing with one another.”

“There will be more Master Teacher now, but the selection process will be tighter. Teachers need to be a demonstration teachers, they need to come up with instructional materials.”

“This is the future, we have to get ready.”
