In support of the local government of Limay, Bataan in the Learning Continuity Program (LCP) of the Department of Education (DepEd), it provided 650 units of laptops for teachers on July 13 led by Limay Mayor Nelson David and Schools District Supervisor Elma Dizon.
For internet connectivity, the local government is currently repairing wireless local area network connections in all barangays and schools in the said town. This will provide free and unlimited internet access by students and teachers.
The initiative is part of local government support and funding for the basic needs of schools in preparation for the upcoming opening of the School Year 2020-2021.
With the availability of laptops, teachers will be able to prepare for new teaching methods during the pandemic. They can use the laptop to create modules, attend webinars, and many other activities while in their homes.
Besides providing laptops and internet connectivity. modular instruction is also being prepared as part of the new normal. The Limay Local School Board has even allocated funds for the printing of modules. This is in response to the call of the Schools Division of Bataan and the Provincial School Board to prioritize the publication of learning materials.
“Aside from the laptops and internet connection, the construction, renovation and repainting of school buildings in various schools of Limay were given priority as well. This is also a part of a long-term plan to minimize the number of pupils inside each classroom, ”said Mayor Nelson David.
