GSIS offers emergency loan for Government Workers via Kiosk

Government employees affected by the lockdowns and community quarantines and to those in need of money, GSIS offers emergency loan for Government Workers via Kiosk.

In the midst of this catastrophic crisis caused by this Corona Virus COVID-19, GSIS members are entitled to apply for an Emergency Loan.

According to GSIS: “Sa mga kawani ng gobyerno, puwede namang mag-apply ng emergency loan sa pamamagitan ng GSIS kiosks. “

The Emergency Loan is Offered to members who are adversely affected by calamities. The loan is payable in three years or 36 equal monthly installments at an interest rate of six percent per annum. If renewed, the balance of the outstanding loan will be deducted from the proceeds of the new loan.

Eligibility

To qualify for the emergency loan, the member-applicant must be:

  • a bona fide resident or employee of the government office within the declared calamity area;
  • be in active service and not on leave of absence without pay;
  • has no arrearages in the payment of mandatory social insurance contributions; and
  • has no loan that has been declared in default.

A calamity-hit area must be declared under a state of calamity by the Sangguniang Panlalawigan/Panglungsod and/or the National Disaster Reduction Risk Management Council.

Application

Members with a GSIS eCard / UMID card may apply for an Emergency Loan through the GSIS Wireless Automated Processing System (GWAPS) kiosk.
